Heaven's Imperfection

"Heaven's Imperfection" sounds like an oxymoron, for Heaven is a perfect place for a perfected and prepared people. Everything will be perfect in Heaven. The streets are not just of gold, but of gold so pure that it is transparent. Yet, we see one imperfection in Heaven - scars.

5and one of the elders said to me, "Stop weeping; behold, the Lion that is from the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has overcome so as to open the book and its seven seals."

6And I saw between the throne (with the four living creatures) and the elders a Lamb standing, as if slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God, sent out into all the earth.

7And He came and took the book out of the right hand of Him who sat on the throne. ~Revelation 5:5-7 NAS

The Lord Jesus Christ will be the central figure of Heaven. Of all of the wonders that await us in Glory, none will arrest our attention like seeing Him in all of His splendor. In the perfection of Heaven where He rules in perfect power - the one thing that will captivate the saints and the one thing that leaves the angels in wonder and amazement; He will be bearing the marks of Calvary. We will know Him by his scars. What Rome inflicted at the behest of the Jews --the crewel scourging with the lictor's wicked cat 'o nine-tails --- the wounds He bore for MY sin will be apparent when we see Him. Those wounds so precious, those stripes that brought my healing will be an object of worship and wonder for all eternity.

He bore my crown thorns and died
Upon my cross they pierced His side
And it was me that should have born
The cross the nails, this crown of thorns
